Local names to watch for include Zac Day, 27; Ryan Newest Official World Golf Ranking Luna, 21; Tim Haverly, 32; and Todd Vanderschaegen, 44.The Golf Channel Am Tour, the largest amateur golf tour in North America, opened its South Central swing with the annual Texas Open Major Championship at Horseshoe Bay Resort.  Over 180 golfers from across the country competed in the 32-hole PGA-like tournament on two of Texas’ quintessential hill country puerto rico resorts golf courses, Ram Rock and Apple Rock.When players arrived on Saturday for the first round they were greeted to 25-35 mph winds and 40 degree weather.  But things calmed down a little on day two and twelve golfers qualified to move on to compete in the 2011 Golf Channel Am Tour National Championships held on the legendary PGA West golf course, in September.
