Golf notebook: Beckman, Walker cash in at Phoenix

Local motion: San Antonio's Zac Day teamed with Bulverde native Mark Miller to capture the championship flight of last week's Duel golf channel tour in the Desert, a Golf Channel Amateur Tour event at Mesquite, Nev.Day puerto rico resorts and Miller took a three-stroke win over Joseph Garner and Jim Hicks. Day captured five tournaments and Miller six on the Golf Channel tour in 2010. More than 200 players competed last week on three courses at Mesquite.Money matters: A fundraising tournament held at Dominion Country Club on Monday raised Indoor Golf Game roughly $30,000 to help with expenses for longtime area pro Mac Wylie, who recently underwent a liver transplant. The tournament for Wylie, now head pro at The Range at Leon Springs, drew 140 players.
